Followed by documentary ‘Natura Urbana – The Brachen of Berlin’. This is about urban ecology and nature’s resilience, directed by Mathew Gandy.  It tells the story of how plants re-colonised parts of Berlin after World War 2. Previously screened at the Fenit Wild Mind Festival a few weeks ago.

 

 

Matthew Gandy is a geographer, urbanist and cultural critic. He is a Professor of Geography at the University of Cambridge He has published widely on urban and environmental themes. He directed and produced the documentary Liquid City (2007). Natura Urbana is his second film.

 

This event is supported by Kerry County Council as part of Kerry Biodiversity Week 2108. It is co-hosted by The Irish Wildlife Trust (Kerry Branch), Siamsa Tíre and Transition Kerry.
